On February 4, 2025, the Program in Law and Public Policy (PILPP) at the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs hosted a discussion titled “The Conflicts of Anti-Colonialism: A Tribal Right to Discriminate on the Basis of Sex?” The talk centered on a key issue that emerged in recent Supreme Court cases regarding Native American tribes’ sovereign rights. Last year, the Court heard three important cases concerning the authority of Native American tribes, one of which marked a significant victory for tribal sovereignty. Just Transition Speaker Series: Dr. Noah Kaufman provides overview of Resilient Energy Economies Research

UNM ‘s Just Transition Grand Challenge recently hosted Dr. Noah Kaufman, co-chair of the Resilient Energy Economies Initiative for a lecture. The Resilient Energy Economies Initiative, funds a series of research projects to support fossil fuel-dependent communities in economic transition. Kaufman previously served as an economic advisor on climate issues in both the Biden and Obama White Houses and currently serves as a Senior Research Scholar at the Center on Global Energy Policy at Columbia University SIPA.
